Jesus' Authority Is Questioned

Jesus Christ is the greatest and the highest over all, that includes every prophet and priest there has ever been, and every king and wise man who ever lived, and who ever will live, because Jesus is the Son of God.

The questioning of Jesus' authority
"Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to Him, 'Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from You.'

He answered, 'A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.  For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now One greater than Jonah is here.

The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now One greater than Solomon is here."  Matthew 12: 38-43

(King Solomon was the greatest king and the wisest man there ever was. Read 1 Kings, Chapter 10: 1-9 about him.)

Jesus surpasses everyone in greatness:
He is more superior than the angels. They worship Him - Hebrews 1:1-6 and Revelation , Chapter 5

He is better than Moses - Hebrews 3:1-6

He is the Highest of all priests. He is the Great High Priest forever seated at the right hand of God - Hebrews 4:14-5:1-10, Hebrews, Chapter 7, Hebrews 10:11-14 (In this blog's page, Bible Search, read more about Jesus being seated at the right hand of God)

He is the greatest of all kings because He is the King of kings and Lord of lords - Psalm, Chapter 2, Revelation 1:5, and Revelation 19:16

He was and is the only One found worthy - Revelation, Chapter 5

Jesus, Himself, said in Matthew 28:18,  “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me."
